For Public Review: Draft Coordinated Public Transit-Human Services Transportation Plan
The Draft Coordinated Public Transit-Human Services Transportation Plan for Cattaraugus County has been developed by the Community Transportation Coalition of Cattaraugus County in response to federal law and is required by the Federal Transit Administration. The plan is intended to identify the transportation needs of individuals with disabilities, older adults, and people with low incomes, provide coordination strategies among agencies for meeting these local needs, and prioritize transportation strategies for funding and implementation.
Thomas Barnes Recipient of the 2009 Brooks Patterson Community Leadership Award
The Cattaraugus County Planning Board presented, at its July 22nd Annual Dinner Meeting, the 2009 Brooks Patterson Community Leadership Award to Thomas Barnes for his outstanding leadership and years of dedicated service in Planning, Development and The Arts in the City of Olean, Cattaraugus County and the Southern Tier West Region of New York State. The meeting was held at the Nic–L–Inn Restaurant in South Valley, with 94 people in attendance.

A workshop on the New York State Farmland Protection Program and Purchase of Development Rights (PDR)
The American Farmland Trust, with special thanks to the New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets for their support, will be presenting a workshop on Tuesday, April 1, 2008 at 7:00 pm at the Ellicottville Memorial Library, 6499 Maples Road, Ellicottville, New York. The workshop is for farmers, farm landowners, public officials, town planning board members and others interested in farmland protection.
Buffalo Niagara Enterprise (BNE) Introduces Results of Agribusiness Study
Olean, NY - Buffalo Niagara Enterprise, in cooperation with National Grid and Empire State Development, held an informational meeting and discussion to introduce the 2006 study they commissioned entitled "Agriculture Dependent Economic Development for Western New York State". The meeting was held on Tuesday, March 6th at Jamestown Community College's Cattaraugus County Campus in Olean. Informa Economics Inc., an international agriculture consulting firm and Moran, Stahl & Boyer, LLC, a consulting firm specializing in site selection, prepared the study.
