Cattaraugus-Little Valley School Tax Roll for 2010-2011

Visit the Farm Day, on Saturday, September 25, 2010, sponsored by Cornell Cooperative Extension of Allegany/Cattaraugus Counties, is a self guided tour of local farms offering residents an opportunity to purchase fresh products such as fruits, vegetables, meat, flowers, plants, trees, and fiber while engaged in demonstrations and other fun and educational activities hosted by your local farms. There are 12 farms participating in Visit the Farm Day this year, making it a fun and educational event for all ages.

On Friday, September 17, 2010 from11:00 AM to 3:00 PM at the Brown Farm – Dan and Marcy Brown, 5346 Snow Brook Road, Great Valley, NY (Cattaraugus County) there will be discussions on organic nutrition,  a presentation on crop insurance and other discussions.

On Tuesday, September 14, 2010 from 6:30PM-8:00PM at 10784 Cagwin Road (approximate field location), Delevan, NY 14042.

Switchgrass is one of the current “buzz words” for bio-energy production. People are asking:

• Can we grow it in Western New York?

• Is there a market for it?

• How can it be used for Bio-energy

• Are there non Bio-energy uses for it?

During this field meeting we will answer these question and others.

There will be a blood drive on September 2, 2010 at the Cattaraugus County Center in Little Valley, NY. The blood drive will be held from 11am – 4pm. All presenting donors will receive free food.

Friday, September 10^th, 2010 at St. Patrick’s Parish Center, located at 79 River Street in Salamanca.  The blood drive will be held from 1pm – 6pm.  All presenting donors will receive free food.

The Farmersville Fire Department will be having a WING night on Friday, September 17, 2010 from 5PM to 8PM at the Farmersville Fire Hall. The Farmersville Fire Department will be serving wings and fries.
