Snowmobile Funding Presented to Cattaraugus County Federation of Snowmobilers

Nine area snowmobile clubs that maintain trails in Cattaraugus County will benefit from the annual snowmobile registration fees collected by New York State. New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation recently awarded Cattaraugus County, the municipal sponsor, $171,535.00 in funding to help improve and maintain the 353 miles of funded snowmobile trails in Cattaraugus County.

Free 2009-2010 Cattaraugus County Snowmobile Brochure and Map

Debra Opferbeck, Tourism Specialist for the Cattaraugus County Department of Economic Development, Planning and Tourism announced that the FREE 2009 – 2010 Snowmobile brochure and map is now available. On one side of the brochure is a 24” by 18 ½” map of the trails with labels for trail numbers, junction numbers and a business legend for the gas, food or lodging. The brochure contains the name, address, phone number, longitudes and latitudes of the snowmobile related businesses through-out the County. The businesses are listed under the categories of:

The Portville Snowmobile Club, Inc. will be having a Snowmobile Safety Course on December 19, 2009 8:00 - 5:00 at the Westons Mills Fire Hall, Weston Mills, NY.

This class is for Youths and Adults and lunch will be provided

Snowmobile Safety Course in Little Valley

There will be a Snowmobilers' Safety Course, sponsored by The Snow Bounders, at the Am. Legion in Little Valley, Sat. Nov.28, 2009 from 8:00 am - 4:00 pm.

Must be at least 10 yrs. of age

Please show 10 minutes early.

A parent or guardian must sign a registration form at the time of the class.

Bring a lunch or buy it there.

December 23rd. the trails will be open for snowmobiling, providing there is snow.

Lunch will be provided courtesy of the Franklinville Snowmobile Club.

County Receives Snowmobile Trail Grant Funds

Little Valley - Nine area snowmobile clubs that
maintain trails in Cattaraugus County will benefit from annual
snowmobile registration fees collected by New York State. New York

funding to help improve and maintain the over 400 miles of funded
snowmobile trails in Cattaraugus County.

County to host Snowmobile Trail Grant Workshop

Little Valley - The Cattaraugus County Department
of Economic Development, Planning and Tourism is sponsoring a New York
State Snowmobile Trail Grant Workshop on Thursday, March 29, 2007 at
10:00 am at the Ischua Valley Country Club located on Route 16 in
Franklinville, NY. The focus of this program will be to give local
government sponsors and key snowmobile personnel a better understanding
of the New York State Snowmobile Trail Grant and guide them in the
preparation for the 2007/2008 grant year. Representatives from NYS
